Chuck Westfall's answer is probably technically correct but doesn't
really address the issue or raw mode vs. JPEG. JPEG's only have 8 bits
whereas raw mode images are typically 10 or 12 bits. Now it could be
that he's saying a 2 micron pixel can't distinguish any more than 256
brightness levels but it that's really true then they probably shouldn't
have produced a 2 micron pixel in the first place. In either case I
guess we don't want a G7.
