I totally agree with Chuck here.
However just for completeness, pop-photo did do a test of some of these low
power adapters meant
for correcting flange mount differences and found the loss of quality
surprisingly little (on film
cameras). The particular test I remember was for a M42 mount with a slightly
smaller change in
F.L., but likely not too different. Their comment was that the adapter lens was
essentially so
thin that apart from the extra reflecting surfaces, it had little effect on
quality.
I actually thought that if you could coble a lens from one these adapters, to
an OM body in front
of the mirror, moved the pentaprism up a few mm for correct focusing, it would
allow you to graft
on a CCD back without it interfering with the shutter. Unfortunately it would
still be a lot of
work and there may not be enough space between the mirror and back of some
lenses.
