To me it doesn't really matter. I don't think I would have gotten
what I wanted here with AF on anyway:

ISO 400 on a nice bright day, so I had a good, deep f-stop, but focus
is clearly not on the thing in the middle but on the player. Perhaps
a camera that costs 4x what I paid for mine can do this with AF. So
be it. I hope so.
What I need is a camera system that zooms automatically when the
thought enters my head.
