Ok. Just thought I'd offered the help to you as I feel your plight.

You mentioned that you were part of the IS-1000 (IS-1)

Just for interests sake, the PF function came from the much-underestimated
and stigmatised OM-101PF. I know most will slag this camera but we were
quietly proud of some of the things it did have. The PF feature was good
enough to find its way to the IS-series. I agree that execution-wise, the
Zoom/PF feature wasn't good.

I longed for an OM-mount version of the IS body. I can do things

That's interesting.

Which brings up a question: Why is it that Olympus has no

We had during my time different design groups working on different models
although there are certain synergies and sharing of technologies. We train
new engineers on real projects but essentially everyone starts off with some
smaller camera projects first before they can move up to more serious ones.
I remember beginning with the XA1 and XA2 almost after the 35-series finally
ended.

Just look at the backs of the Olympus

I'm sure you won't like this answer - Olympus was still testing out a few
designs at the moment but eventually once design cohesion is attained - as
per OM - this will settle. I agree it isn't good and if Maitani was still
around, he'd probably freaked out. I can imagine having two or more
completely different E-bodies and switching mindsets from one to another.

Why is the E-1 without an instant spot-meter button, which nearly every

Fully agree. There is a working prototype whereby if you see it, you'll love
it but I'm not sure if Asakura would launch it just yet. The spotmeter
button is right where you're used to. I'm quietly confident and hopeful that
they will. This might come as an E-x or E-xx model.

You cannot place one camera into a silo, since we all have multiple cameras

Agree again and point noted. Read above.

My Minolta A1 is closer to my E-1 in layout and controls than the

Read above.

The E-3 BOW (block of wood) has

The mockup is missing a few things, AG....

I won't mention the three distinctly different flash

What do you mean by that. Please elaborate.

Like them or not, almost all Canons share the same control

Good on you. Thank you.

Must stay out of the camera stores between now and then.

Hahahaha....
