With Pent*x apparently going sideways, at best, it's an interesting
strategy. Makes the lens line-up a little odd, though, with so many
similar range zooms:
14-42/3.5-5.6 - 14-45/3.5-5.6 & 14-54/2.8-3.5
40-150mm f/4.0-5.6, 40-150mm f/3.5-4.5 & 50-200mm f/2.8-3.5
The existing ones are the EZ line and the ED line, what will the new
ones be? Oh, in the release, they are ED. Sales folks are going to have
fun with that - or not...
Anyway, I wish them lots and lots of luck carving out a profitable piece
of the market with this one.
When and how will the pro shoe drop??? Dum da dum dum.
