We're gradually moving closer to 'universal' cameras. By this I mean
cameras that will offer quality performance for still and moving
images.
Currently, some still cams do a mediocre job with motion and some
motion cams do a mediocre job with stills -- despite manufacturer
claims.
Of course, high end cams (3 CCD) do a better job albeit at a much
higher price. But, as with most technologies, we can assume the price
will drop over time and our grandkids will eventually be able to get a
Sony/whatever that will make high quality moving image files from
which they can extract any individual frames they can proudly display
in a frame on their desks.
That is, if anyone still has an interest in still pix . . .
