Wondered what happened to that concept . . .
If memory serves, a number of years ago, Dirk Halstead was talking up
and actually training people to shoot digital video. I remember
thinking this must be the wave of the future. Of course the RGB
vidcams and editing gear were *very* expensive so I just duct-taped my
wallet and continued to shoot stills.
I just checked digitaljournalist.com forums and found DV
Cinematography, et. al. in the "Archived Forums". Looks like they
gave up at some point. Apparently editors still think the 'monkey
with a helmet-cam' is viable.
