For the record, I abhor on-camera flash, and will only use it if there is NO
other way to get a shot.
For studio stuff, I like catchlights in the eyes, but small, well-behaved
ones. I've been known to PS big ones into small ones if I've got a big
softbox or two jammed in someone's face -- a sample of the biggest that
don't bother me overly much here -

Well, the cool thing with most of these shots are that the eyes
are not blasting back flash reflection. I find it rare these days for
the eyes in photos to be in their natural state. For example:
