The best was an Apple type that sat under your monitor and you just
'posted' your laptop into the slot - it was drawn in and connected up
like a giant storage card. Didn't last long - perhaps it was too
twitchy or too expensive to make, or just too cute.
I'm bothered because the ports have a life of a set number of
connection cycles and, in the past, some Macs needed a motherboard
replacement if you broke a port!
