Some heads that are suitable for tripods are pretty useless on a
monopod, tilt/pan and geared are two.
Since it is dead easy to pan with the monopod alone, all a head needs to
do in tilt. A ball head can do that, but with most, ou have to take fare
that it's in the right orientation to tilt down more than just a little.
I think the best head solution is the Bogen 3232 monopod head, cheap,
solid, simple, does the job with ease
