Ditto. I absolutely agree. However, my new Coolscan V (4000
dpi) changes the balance towards film again.
The biggest difference between digital and film that I've found
is that digital hits a "brick wall" and at the limit the
transition is rarely pretty (aliasing). With film, the
resolution falloff occurs sooner, but is a smoother transition
at the limits.
