Except that is not really true. The reason for the explosion of DSLR
models in the past year or so is that there is little profit in the
consumer market. Look at all the new models absent viewfinders. A bad
optical viewfinder is too expensive now to put in a $400 or $500
camera. If they were profitable where are the new C7000s, C7070s and
C8080s? They are old stuff now. It is the same for Nikon and Canon.
The cheap DSLRs are the new consumer models.
