An argument could be made that MOST camera buyers have much of
any use for some of these bells and whistles.
For example, Multiple White-Balance memories. My cameras can
store 3-5 WB settings. Guess how many I actually use? One.
How about all of the various storage modes? Anybody actually
shoot in-camera TIFFs? How about the 640x480, 1024x768,
1280x... sizes. Either I shoot 640x480 or full-size. What's up
with 24 variations of Size and Quality?
Another thing: What's up with the 10X zoom lens? These things
are worthless on the long end and never wide enough on the short
end. We've fought this problem for decades with camcorders and
they continue the nonesense with digicams. Thank SONY for this.
