My niece worked as an emergency room nurse in Newark. She would say if you
liked the color red you could find a lot of it in any emergency room there.
Many cuttings and shootings and lots of drug overdose stuff. Not a good
place. /jmac

Subject: [OM] Re: photo ops in Newark, NJ
At the risk of offending all from northeast New Jersy I'll hazard a
guess that there's an EPA superfund site somewhere nearby. In addition,
I have some horrible memories about returning to Newark from Gatwick one
day. I was deathly ill with violent diarrhea contracted by eating lunch
in a pub somewhere near Gatwick. The plane encountered violent
thunderstorms just outside Newark and was rerouted to Baltimore. It
gets worse from there but I won't go on.
Despite flying in and out of Newark many times and passing the length
and breadth of New Jersey numerous time on its interstate highways I
know relatively little about what's there. I do know that that area was
quite important during the American revolution, however.
