All the talk about batteries reminded me of getting a
notice the other day to check the battery in my Dell
laptop. Dell has a recall for a bunch of their
batteries, overheating and melting down the computer.

I've also heard of Compact/HP having the same problem.
So the smart battery thing is not just limited to our
cameras.
