[OM] E-1 or E-300

I am looking to jump into digital photography at a reasonable price.  I have 
found a 2 lens E-300 outfit for $600 that is appealing.  For $750 I have 
seen 2 lens E-1 outfits (includes the same lenses as the e-300).  What are 
the pros and cons between the 8 megapixel e-300 and 5 mega pixel e-1.  I do 
plan on shooting with studio flash so the the built in x sync on the e-1 is 
appealing.
