I'd agree that an LCD is worth looking into. I know that early models
had problems with accurate colour but I think that's no longer the
case.
That said, I did use a 17" Optiquest monitor for about 5 years and it
was a great monitor.
There was some mention about not having room for a 17" LCD. The thing
to remember is that LCD monitors are extremely thin so they take up
less desk space than a CRT monitor of the same size. For instance, I
switched from a 17" CRT (the aforementioned Optiquest) to a 23"
widescreen LCD and actually gained desk space in the process.
