Look further - it's an Australian institution and believed to have
been invented by an Australian farmer in the thirties who wanted a
vehicle that 'he could drive the family to church on Sundays but
still use as a pickup in the week' - a Utility vehicle. Not a true
pickup but a modified sedan to be precise. No self-respecting farm
lad would be without one and it is the signature redneck vehicle here.
