Not to me. Inferior. In fact, it reminds me of the crappy 35-80mm
nasties that Canon sells with the film EOS bodies in order to
compete. Avoid. It was supplied to me with the E-500 I reviewed and I
did a fast comparison, using the 50/2 macro as a reference. Now that
IS a damn good lens.
Here in Oz the kit with the 14-45mm is AU$100 more than the kit with
the 17.5-45mm and so it's a ridiculous choice. My local store offers
the two lens kit (14-45, 40-150) plus the booster as an E-300 special
and that's a good deal indeed.
