Yeah, it's amazing how that works...
To answer the question, no RSE isn't a pixel off. It ain't
anything off. There are a few minor workflow quibbles and the
WB settings are from Mars, but it made quick work of setting
custom conversions of 175 images tonight of the Porcupines. I
know I'll have to revisit a couple dozen, but at seven seconds
per conversion (including the writing of a 16 bit Tiff), it hums
right along.
The laptop's cooling fan is kicking out some serious heat.
When working on specific pictures intended for serious
nit-picking, I'll go all out and use whichever converter gives
me exactly what I want, but for the 90% rule I can easily be
happy with either Viewer (which also displays JPEGs) or RSE.
Other than being able to extract a smidge more detail out of the
E-1 files (ok, slightly more than a smidge). I was set to buy
Studio, but I'll probably end up getting Raw Shooter Premium,
instead just for the Minolta support. But not this week.
I don't believe this, the batch processor just finished. This is
almost as fun as the chemical darkroom.
NOT!
