Never bothered to understand the "why" but it seems that whenever I put an
OM4(T) in my camera backpack and forget to set it to B, there's a very high
probability the batteries are dead when I remove it. I even managed to kill
the battery in the E at least once. They must start partying the moment the
bag is zipped but if they took any pictures, they deleted the evidence.
