I know the feeling. It was the same thing that kept my new
scanner in the box for nearly 12 months. I found that it
really took a "spring clean" to move the mess into logical
accessible piles, and free up workable space for future
mess ;-). Now I have my new monitor (opened and installed
the same day I bought it...so I'm learning) in my face,
the printer to the left, and the scanner on the right, and
the rest of the mess in other areas. I'm not a "tidy desk,
tidy mind" type, but working the mess into only a *seemingly*
(to outsiders) dumpy (dis)order has helped immensely.
Dig in, Andrew, and harshly and unemotionally sacrifice
anything *truly* unnecessary to the Gods of Trash, and
they will repay you with workable chaos (but don't
throw *that* out - you might use that one day - nor
*that* - I mean, you have some emotional ties to that -
nor that other thing over there - you know someone who
can get some use out of that - nor.... ;-) ).
There is apparently order in chaos - I just wish I could
find it... perhaps it's under that pile over their...I'll
just go look...Hey, look! A butterfly!...[crash]
Cheers,
Marc
