Heh...well, I have a Dual 1 GHz G4 Powermac that's rack-mounted with
Marathon G-Rack ears so I can take it with me when I'm working.
That's my main machine and since I'm editing this thing by proxy it
spends as much as a day or two at a time rendering. I have a
Powerbook, but it's just a 1 GHz machine and big files seem to choke
it pretty bad. I mainly use it for Internet stuff and as my writing
machine. Not to mention that I have limited RAM and disc space
(really should upgrade). The PC just makes sense for this application
right now, IMO. It's not online, since it mainly exists as a
Gigasampler, so it's not chock-full-o-viruses. It's reasonably fast
(2 GHz) and has a decent amount of memory and disc space.
