Actually, no. XP2 is an outstanding film and has about the
nicest grain structure you could hope for. Besides, you can get
it processed and proofed in an hour, then send the negs to me
for REAL prints to be made from them.
The biggest problem that comes up with XP2 is inadequate
washing. Usually I have to water soak the negs for another five
to ten minutes to get the dyes washed out. Doing so will yield
almost two stops worth of enlarger exposure.
In all honesty, if you want to shoot B&W and don't have your own
darkroom, XP2 is an excellent choice.
