This is one place where I think the eSIF is wrong. The proper hood for a
21/3.5 is a clamp-on rubber hood that is also used for the 35/2.8 Shift
lens.
The proper hood for the 21/2 may be a screw-in hood, but not the 21/3.5.

We don't got no steenking protocols. Maybe you are too nice a guy to
belong to this list :-)
Your question about the hood for the 21/3.5 indicates that you don't yet
know of this incredible resource called the "eSIF" (electronic Sales
Information File) <http://olympus.dementia.org/eSIF/om-sif.htm>
The eSIF was lovingly put together by list member Hans Van Veluwen and
is also for sale on CD. Recommended.
The 21/3.5 is discussed here;
<http://olympus.dementia.org/eSIF/om-sif/lensgroup/21mmf35.htm> where
you can see that it takes a 49mm screw-in filter and hood.
Unfortunately, other than angle of view of the lens, there are no other
specs listed for the hood. Since my widest OM Zuiko is 24mm I can't
help with measurements. I'm sure someone else will, however.
Your comment about not being able to find a hood caused me to look
around a bit myself. Not only did I not find one but I noticed from
browsing <http://www.keh.com> that ultra wide lens hoods for all brands
seem to be non-existent in the used market.
Unfortunately, the archives are still not available so there's no help
there yet.
Good luck,

supplications for some obscure glass called Zuikos, which I later found out
were old Olympus lenses. I'm from the Fred Miranda list, which deals
mostly with Canon stuff, and worse yet, I've only owned a camera for the
past 5 months or thereabouts, so I don't need yelling at; I need an
education, is what it is.

be the proud owner of a 21/3.5, but I don't think he had a hood for it...
not sure. Problem is this: trying to locate a hood has proved to be a bit
of a challenge. Are they that scarce? And, if they are, has anyone
considered commisioning a limited run of them from a machinst?

can put together a small run... I'd just need measurements or a sample. It
needn't be the original size or shape, if more recent designs are
better.... the only thing is, I've never seen one, so don't know how they
attach. Screw on? or clip on/set screw? Bayonet mount? If I do this, they
will be cut from billet aluminum, not pressed sheet. Lots of waste, but I'm
not dealing with enough quantity to warrant making dies and pressing them
out.
