Not really a catch-all, but since you asked, I love the Tmax 3200 set between
800 & 1600 (depending on lighting conditions). Then Rodinal 1+50. Golf
balls-sized grain ? Yes, but who cares ! It's so gorgeous. TMZ is the only
Tmax I can bear, 100 and 400 are lifeless and cold, but 3200 just feels right
(I don't like Ilford Delta either). Oterwise, I shoot mostly APX 100 ;
generaly at 100, but I push it without major problems to 200 if I feel the
light can be a bit scarce. FP4+ is nice too, and of course Tri-X is fabulous
(even in a holga, so no wonder). HP5+ is OK, if I can't find a tri-X when I
need a 400 :-)
Zuikos are very good at contrast, so I use them in that respect without
remorse regarding grain.
