I finally got a little bit of a look at an E-300 at a superstore. No
batteries or card. I thought the viewfinder was just fine. It is
comfortable to hold and not heavy. If I were in the market I would
definitely consider it.
I don't know about Canon, but some of the Nikon models can be fitted
with focusing screens from the film cameras. N80 screen for D100.
F100 screen for the other D cameras. Maybe John could do a custom job
for you. It might be a fun project for him.
Autofocus is so much nicer than I thought from using P&S cameras that
I was willing to let the old manual focus stuff go especially with
losing the auto aperture.
