> God will'ng and the creeks don't rise
If y'all want to git _way_ off topic, Esteemed Wife reported the other day
that she had read where "Good Lord willing and the creek don't rise"
actually refers not only to God's will, but also to the absence of an
uprising by the Creek Indians of the old American Southeast. They don't have
that expression up here in Occupied Canada, and it's one of my favorites,
though I substitude the Western North Carolina rendition of creek, "crik."
