AG, Bill thanks for your enlightening comments which are each very
persuasive indeed. My concerns are not about which digital, but about
generic digital things like:
Lack of extreme wide angle lenses
Significantly reduced selective focus capability (too much DoF and no fast
lenses)
Dependence on battery power (or bulk)
Am I being unrealistic, or over-demanding? Any reactions?

The E-1 is "all camera". You're not flying a computer. Not much stands in
the way of getting the shot.

So I guess my answer is that I really like both digital imaging and my e-1
system, and probably in that order. For me, digital expands my ability to
create. No one makes the perfect digital system and I think that as an
OM/Olympus user you will be pleased with the e-1/e-300 cameras. If, like
me, you use your cameras in "real world" situations, like in the middle of
a field of Texas wildflowers, at your grandson's t-ball game or perhaps on
the side of a swamp filled with alligators, the sensor cleaning feature
alone should push you over the line to Olympus. Bill Barber
