Zuikoholism is bothering me again. I have 90/2 that I use very much for
macro
shots with 4Ti and with E-1. I have began to play with an idea of buying
50/3,5
macro. They are quite cheap. I am just curious that do I really NEED that
50/3,5?
There is only one right answer. Yes, and just be sure you get it at a
favorable price. I picked up the 50mm f3.5 for about $60 in mint condition.
It
will go with me some places I might not want to take the 50mm f2 or the 90mm
f2.
If you want to compare the field of view, use your 50mm f whatever focused
at its closest point and then compare it to the 90mm f2 at the same distance.
Should give you the same information. From a practical standpoint it really
(for me) has to do with what is going to be in you background.
The angle of view on the 50mm is 47 degrees and the 90mm is 27 degrees.
