It's sort of what I was intending to do; I just wondered if there was a
slightly more "elegant" solution, such as:
1. Take ring off.
2. Clean up with alcohol.
3. Clean lens barrel with alcohol.
4. Heat up rubber ring in water to 143 degrees precisely to re-soften
the rubber.
5. Dry off carefully.
6. Carefully fit back on to lens barrel.
... or something similar.
If not, then Evo-Stik it is!
