Sorry for the dumb question. I answered it myself by more careful
reading of the reviews. The histograms on the E-1 and 300 are only
available during playback mode and not during the "record review" period
after each shot.
Yecch! That is a big limitation. I have gotten so accustomed to the
real-time histogram on the Minolta A1 that I am going to have a tough
time adapting to a real DSLR. I think the real-time histogram is the
ultimate light meter.
