Maybe it depends when you came into the Olympus world. I bought an
OM-1 when I got out of high school because I couldn't afford the OM-2.
A few years later, when I was at RIT, I bought an OM-2. Now I have
those and an OM-4 macro setup (50mm 3.5 w/T-8 and T-10 ring flashes)
that a friend gave me. That's the only SLR I use now. The others are
relegated to the box of cameras with sentimental value that I can't
bring myself to sell. My OM-4 will see long-term use for macro work;
for general photography, I can't resist the lure of my Leica M6. One
day, I'll replace the OM setup with a digital for macro work - for
now, the cost/value quotient there isn't quite what I want to see.
