I know there are some IS-3 users out there, so I thought I'd ask a
question... what sort of lens hood works on an IS-3? I've been using a
rubber thread-in type, but it looks like I'm getting some vignetting at the
35mm setting - and it might be due to the metal cylindrical structure
itself, not the actual hood! I have a 1A filter (not particularly thin)
mounted to the lens, then the hood screwed into the filter. Looking through
the viewfinder it does not appear to vignette, but there isn't much margin
(judged by sticking my finger into the field of view from the corner).
Since I cannot stop down the lens (somewhere I believe I read that
vignetting worsens at smaller apertures - true? Or is it the increased
depth of field that "sharpens" the corner intrusion and makes it more
evident?) I cannot tell what might be going on at actual shooting
apertures... I'm kind of thinking of doing away with the hood - any advice?
