They screwed up big time with the switch to AF, both with performance and reliability. As a result, they lost a lot of money and had to sit out the 35mm AF SLR market. It seems fair to knock them for engineering and manufacturing blunders, but they didn't do it on purpose just so they could abandon their OM user base.
