No, it's still stereo, Somehow, at least for many of us, sharpness from
one eye and depth added by the unsharp image from the other works rather
well. I'm not sure it "should" work, but it does.
It's sort of like colour television, perhaps. The color info is
broadcast at a much lower resolution than the B&W, but appears to be at
full resolution when they are viewed together.
