John,
I travel with photographic equipment out of Boston a couple of times a
month. I put my film in a clear plastic bag and out of the canisters. I
carry a couple of rolls of 1600 also. I have never been refused a hand
check when carrying 1600 film.

John,
I am sending you the relavent portion of the Federal Aviation Regulations
under separate message. The operative statement is in paragraph e. and is
as follows:
If requested by individuals, their photographic equipment and film packages
shall be inspected without exposure to an X-ray system

I will be transitting through Boston airport on Saturday 17 July.
Can anyone please give me specific details about travellers' rights to
request hand inspections of carry-on undeveloped film so as to avoid having
the film passed through the x-ray scanner.
Thanks
