The thingy looks like a palm rest Donald - for resting the lens in the palm
of your hand.

I suspect that the lens will focus beyond terrestrial 'infinity' and the
limiter is there to adjust that distant focus limit for those times when you
are restricting yourself to photos within the Kingdom.

Focus limiter? Whaddazatdo? (limits focus?)!

I've been playing about with it (just like whassername all those years
ago...) and it does seem to focus very close. Love the internal focus.

How would you use the two strap lugs? Just discovered the filter insert. 
Nice.

This thing was attached to the tripod mount. Anyone know what it is?
