75-250/3.8-4.5 Model 104A dates from 1981 to 1984.
Slight differences in optical construction, dimensions, weight and close
focus capability.
I would speculate that each was a well built lens able to compete with the
best third-party lenses of the time. But neither of them was in Tamron's SP
("Superior Performance") range. The SP60-300 is *smaller* than the 75-250,
though 50 grams heavier, (perhaps due to larger number of elements). Why do
you think the 75-250 would perform better?

I have not used the 75-250, the 60-300 is very good especially for the ebay
prices in the uk which is typically around 50 pounds. Has a nice macro
facility its big and bulky though. I guess the 75-250 should be simular or
better in performance.
