Just to clarify, after you have pressed the spot button you see:
-- A static diamond showing the spot reading just taken.
-- A moving diamond that shows the spot reading from whatever
is in the spot circle; this moves around as you point the camera
at differently-illuminated parts of the subject.
-- A static bar graph that shows the average of the spot readings taken
(i.e. the average of the up-to-8 static diamonds); for the first spot
reading, the bar graph shows the same setting as the static diamond.
When in spot mode, you cannot see what the centre-weighted average meter
reading would be.
