Interestingly, the problem of filters reducing light has been tackled
by Nikon with their small sensor cameras by using a CMY filter system
instead of RGB. The CMY filters reduce the light less to the sensor
which helps with the signal to noise ratio. I am not sure whether other
makers have done this.
