I will not argue with your point of view on the list, just your
analogy. You are comparing consumption in music to creating
photographs. There really is no more adjustment to looking at digital
photographs than listening to digitally recorded music. If you want to
make either one, well, you will have to learn a few things and invest
some additional money. Some people would say that sending a film off to
be processed is not photography either and digital makes thing enough
easier and cheaper so that a photographer can pretty well control
things from beginning to end.
