People using the digest must be masochists in the first place.Wading
through all those posts even without any excess quoting and HTML is so
painful compared to having the individually titled posts. So I figure
they just like to complain. Give 'em what they ask for and they will
just find something else to complain about. :-) Is the toal
content of separate e-mails really that much bigger?
Somewhat more seriously, I don't like the idea of an auto quote chopper
'feature'. I, and many others, do edit what is quoted to keep it to the
minumim necessary to provide context and meaning to the post and
occasionally that is fairly long. One thing that drives me crazy is
replies posts where I have no idea what it is about and the
uninformative subject and lack of any quoting whatsoever is no help.
Sometimes these are replying to something a few days old or to one of
those long threads where the subject changes several times without a
title change.
If you could only apply length limits to the digests with no effect to
the individual mail option, I wouldn't even notice, much less object.
Keep up the good work. Your stick to it spirit in the face of the recent
host troubles is quite wonderful.
