I know nowt about bits and math, but there are a lot of folks out there
who seem to. Have you had a look at the hardware sections on the Adobe
forums?
Accepted wisdom is memory = good. My measly P2 350 has been upgraded to a
P3 600 with 768 megabytes of RAM. It makes a difference.
One of the annoying things on my search for upgrades was the coyness of
magazine writers and most forums on the subject of image editing. Games,
yeah, 3D rendering, yeah, video editing, yeah, 2D work? Who does that?
Dedicated forums (fora - there, that made me feel better!) are much better.
