Assuming I had both an E-1 and the associated adapter to mount my OM lenses,
would the following be true if I mounted a Zuiko 135mm f2.8 OM lens on the E-1.
1) The effective focal length would be 270mm.
2) The effective aperture would remain f2.8.
3) The focus would be the same as if it were mounted on the OM . . . manual.
4) I would need to stop it down manually to get the proper exposure as there
would be no
interconnect between the lens and the meter/body. So the method would be
a little
like the old "preset lenses" of the past and you would have to focus and
then close the
aperture down to the desires setting, which you had "preset".
Are these assumptions correct? Is there anything else, I'm missing? Are the
adapters going to be easily available from Olympus. I'm sure this has been
covered before and I just didn't get it. If 1 and 2 are correct, then my 400mm
Tamron becomes an 800mm f4 and that might just help to push me over the edge.
Hmmm, with a 1.4X or 2X, I might really be able to reach out and touch
someone. Thank you, Bill Barber
