> Has anyone used a Vivitar 28/2 MC OM mount lens previously?
I have the Vivitar 28/2 version that was made by Komine, not the one made by
Kiron. It uses 49mm filters, focuses down to about 6 inches to give a 1:5
ratio, and the filter ring does not rotate. Mine has color like the Zuikos,
not the "cooler" image that the Kiron/Vivitar 28/2 55mm version reportedly
has. In my non-scientific comparisons, it gives images as good, if not
better, than any Zuiko I own. I have always thought it gave sharper images
than the standard 50/1.8 MIJ lenses I have, but perhaps it is just the
larger DOF that is fooling me. Anyways, it is one non-Zuiko focal length I
own that I've never had any desire to replace with a Zuiko. They don't come
up often on the auction site, but usually go cheap when they do.
But for some reason lately, the 28mm focal length and I just haven't been
getting along. But it will come back some day. I usually go in spells on
these things.
