Dan T,
I had one for a while before getting the Zuiko from a list member. The Vivitar
is good performer though it has some quirks to be aware of.
It is a 55mm filter but the front rotates as you focus so polarizer operation
is harder as you will need to reset it as you focus (actually one of the main
reasons I went to the Zuiko, well that and I am addicted).
They are also a little bit prone to oiled up diaphragms, I know have seen a few
on the 'bay with this problem. Their market value is just at the point where
you might question if you wanted to get the work done or wait for another one.
Focus and aperture run the right way so that is not an issue.
My one is now safe with another (different) list member.
As a side note I have its brother the f2.5 version looking for a home at the
moment so if anyone is interested let me know. It uses a 67mm filter and the
front doesn't rotate with focus, my one has caps and is clean and clear.
Hope this helps, Dan S.
