But at the time, Olympus was serious about attacking the Pro market, with a
full infrastructure behind it. My impression is that Olympus is all about
the consumer now and the E-1 is a Prosumer foray, not a true Pro foray. How
would the compete against the big guys? Is SI or National Geographic going
to convert? If they don't, I don't see longevity.
No one is a bigger fan of the OM line than I am. I still love it and what it
stood for and what it is.
But I jumped ship. And, frankly, I'm comfortable with the decision. You
could argue whether I made the right choice, but that is a Toyota vs. Honda
discussion. Both are excellent.
