There are two celebrations in villages related to local church:
a "nameday" of church according to it's name and christian calendary
and "birthday" in the date of consecration...wake or fair.
Traditional celebration like it was photographed is quite rare in each
village, for example once in 15 years, because it takes time to organize
everything, get all costumes, etc.
I must say gipsies don't live in central Europe now in the way like on
pictures, all fair is somehow return two or more centuries back and also
mix with traditional carnival with masks (mean carnivals in the time before
40 days fast
before Easter).
All the fair is fun with jokes, ends with merry-making and drinking so
that's
why so many jolly faces.
