There's a Santa Fe, Texas, only 32 miles from Houston. Thus Bill's
smiley-face at the end of his first reply to you, when he suggests you look
at northern New Mexico instead. (There's also a Las Vegas, NM on the
highway between Santa Fe, NM and Denver, which also causes confusion with
its better-known namesake [famous for gambling and sin] in Nevada.)
And I'm horribly jealous. *I* want to go to Santa Fe (NM, *not* TX) and
live there! **SIGH** Oh well, if there's one meagre consolation, it's
that friends of mine who recently drove there for the weekend from Denver
said that the Old Mexico Grill ("I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy!") has
closed down, and no-one seems to know why. A shame -- five-star northern
New Mexican cuisine. Best damned Mexican food I've had in my life, and
that includes the otherwise fine fare at a Mexican family-owned eatery in
Alamogordo.
